What I’m Watching: Together (2025)

Better than expected. Didn’t go as gross or gory as I feared it would, considering it’s a Neon film. Stayed focused on the characters instead of just trying to make you puke.

With that said, there was plenty to squirm about. It’s a great one to see if you’re in a healthy, stable relationship because you will be judging Alison Brie and Dave Franco the whole time for their passive-aggressive sham of a relationship. I really appreciate that there is a definite cause for the whole situation, and it’s not some Beau Is Afraid nonsense that gets so wrapped up in being artistic that it forgets to be a watchable film.

You can definitely interpret this however you want. The moral of the story might be that two people unevenly yoked create their own problems. It might be that getting out of an unhealthy relationship is the only way to avoid being destroyed by it. It might be that only in committing fully to your significant other can you both grow into the fullest version of yourselves. It’s art. Interpret it how you will.
