You may be surprised to know that I do more than just watch movies. I also read. It doesn’t help that the last book I read was about movies, but that’s just life for me.
MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios by Joanna Robinson, Dave Gonzales, and Gavin Edwards was excellent. That is, it’s excellent if you really want to know how some of the biggest cinematic sausage of the 21st century was made. They compiled interviews, data, research, and more into compelling chapters about the toy company that was behind Marvel Entertainment for so long, and the misogynistic bigot who was behind that company for too long.
Reading this really explained any lingering questions I had about the creative choices, the production schedules, the casting decisions, and more. I kept up on that news while it was fresh, but this book reveals so much more.
Next up, the latest haunted house novel from my favorite author, Cherie Priest, It Was Her House First.
