In a word, this film was beautiful. Gallons of blood, sure, but beautiful nonetheless. Richly complex characters expertly portrayed by Michael B. Jordan and others, positive masculinity that nurtures and uplifts, measured and targeted use of violence, and a poignant exploration of culture, music, and intercultural relationships that warns as much as it celebrates. Also, the timeless reminder that it’s always okay to punch a Nazi; in the absence of a Nazi, a filthy racist will suffice. Must-watch/must-buy.
